Update on The Hazel Tree

Just a quick note for those of you who might be wondering where I’ve got to for the last couple of months!

As Writer in Residence at the Royal Scottish Geographical Society, I’m working on a book entitled ‘The Great Horizon – 50 Tales of Exploration’.  This will focus on the stories of 50 amazing explorers from the late nineteenth century right up to the present day.  There will be some well-known names and some less familiar ones, but without exception they all have strong links with the RSGS.

Professor Iain Stewart, President of the RSGS, has kindly agreed to write the Foreword.  The publisher is Sandstone Press, and publication is scheduled for the autumn.

This is the realisation of a dream, as you can imagine!   I’m currently at the editing stage, and all is progressing well.  Within a month or so, I will have finished the text and will be ready to start thinking about new posts on The Hazel Tree.  I can’t wait, because I’ve got some lovely places to share with you.   Meanwhile, thank you for your patience!

You can read more on my other blog, Explorers of the RSGS.
