Red deer painting

Colin has started 2016 with a big project… a new painting of some red deer making their way across a wintry mountain landscape.  This is going to be a large picture, with plenty of depth and drama.   Here it is in progress!

Can’t wait to see the finished painting.

  2. That will be wonderful. They are such magnificent creatures!

  3. BIG project….looks big what size is the canvas? The details look great

  4. Truly beautiful. I pity anyone who has never seen a red deer. Colin is doing everyone a favour with his work. Thanks to the both of you for sharing these images.

    • We’re very lucky to have seen so many deer on our travels. It’s a real thrill when you suddenly spot a big herd of them up on a mountainside. Thanks for your kind words – Colin is really enjoying working on this.

  5. What a terrific scene! So much detail to look at already, can hardly wait ’till it’s finished. 🙂

  6. Such talent, its going to be wonderful 🙂

  10. That is stunning Jo, I love how much detail Colin achieves in his paintings, he must have the patience of a saint 🙂

    • Thank you very much, Andy! Yes, he’s pretty good! 😀 But I have got to say (and Colin would readily admit) that he doesn’t have the patience of a saint. He just HAS to paint. It’s almost like a meditation. That’s the only way I can describe it! 🙂
