Purdey’s PAWS Awards 2015: the results!

Purdey cropIt is now well over a month since I launched my poll to find out the winner of my PAWS Awards 2015.

Your votes have been counted very carefully, and I am delighted to say that I can now reveal the winner!

The golden fir cone for acting excellence goes to…..

Drum roll… lights down…  suspense…

MYSELF!    For my role in ‘The Young Winston’:

The Young Winston

“Never, in the field of… eeuuughgh!”

Oh, thank you, thank you… I’m overwhelmed… totally unexpected.   Goodness, I didn’t even prepare a speech.   Mmm, is that a cheesy treat?  Don’t mind if I do.

Close behind, are two – no, three – runners-up:

Angel and Ponyo, who both together made ‘Alien Abduction 2’ an unforgettably fluffy, light-as-air, cat-flap chick-flick.   As far as I know, they are still in this position.

Alien Abduction: 2 (with Ponyo in supporting role)

“You getting up yet, Pon?” “Ssshh, the aliens are coming back!”

And Einstein, my oh-so-orange friend from down the road, who forgot his words in ‘Romeo + Juliet’ but seems to have won some of you over anyway.   Since you all insist, I will give him (perhaps) one of my cheesy treats when he comes to see me this evening.   Would anybody like to see Einstein in another production?    I need to know now because it will take him 12 months to learn his lines.

Romeo + Juliet

“With love’s light wings did I o’erperch these walls.” “Don’t be silly, you crawled under the fence like you always do.”

Thank you very much indeed to everybody who voted, and for your kind comments.     If you’d like an autographed bag of kitty treats as a shrew-venir, please contact my agent.  PS:  I think I’ve eaten all except the anti-furball type.

Keep up the vole patrol, and I’ll be seeing you again soon!   Off now for a well-earned snooze…Purdey on bed 4

  1. Delightful, delightful!

  2. Thank you for the purrty pictures

  3. Even a confirmed dog lover like me has to admit that some of these pictures are pretty cute.

  4. So funny!

  5. Glorious and clever. What a great team you make!

    • Thank you, Lyn! Purdey does acknowledge her servants but generally it only happens if I get on the floor and pretend to be a cat! 🙂

      • Ha ha…..I did think “team” was not a term most self-respecting(egotistical?!) cats would use. They much prefer staff at their beck and call:-) She is gorgeous and I love Edison. Jazz used to go next door to visit Toffee, a large, fluffy ginger cat and they would share cat biscuits mid morning most days before ill health kept Jazz house-bound. Toffee’s owners enjoyed the pair of cats having “elevenses” together. No other neighbourhood cat won Jazz’s friendship in the same way.

      • I like the idea of the two old guys having a snack together! 🙂 Purdey sees Einstein merely as ‘bait’, because she rugby-tackles him and rolls him over, but he just grumbles a bit and then settles back in his original position!

      • Oops Einstein, not Edison – blame recent sedation for evil tooth extraction surgery……Jazz and Toffee were just as you say, a couple of old guys sharing a snack. Toffee is a scaredy cat ( he would never darken our door) so perhaps the brazen, gregarious Jazz bullied him. Einstein sounds a hoot and is obviously dazzled by Purdey’s beauty and screen successes.

      • Haha, Einstein won’t mind. I don’t know his real name – he won’t tell me. He has a gentle nature but is slightly confused, hence his nickname! He does have a soft spot for Purdey but she runs rings around him!

      • PS Really hope your tooth (or your mouth!) is feeling better soon!

      • Thanks for the good wishes..Fingers crossed it is on the very big improvement today.

  6. These pictures are so cute!

  7. christinelaennec says:

What an excellent and fun idea to have this competition! Our family has enjoyed it.

    • Thank you, Christine! Really glad to know that! I am merely a humble production engineer but I will pass on your compliments to the actresses themselves! 🙂

  8. Congratulations Purdey, very well deserved.

  9. so glad to have found your lovely webspace 🙂
