Portraits of a Lesser Black-backed Gull

In March, we took the ferry over to Mull from Oban, and had a wonderful day exploring the northern part of the island.

On our return journey, a Lesser Black-backed Gull was hitching a ride on the ferry.  Colin was enjoying taking photos of him as he rode around in the air of the slipstream and glided effortlessly alongside;   but the gull had an eye open for what kind of snacks the passengers had on offer, and settled on a lamp post at the back of the boat to enjoy some Pringles.   It seemed to me that this wasn’t his first trip over to Mull!   Maybe he has friends or relatives over there.

  1. Lovely photos, I especially like the one of the gull against the red paintwork.

  2. More super photos! I really like the one of the gull as he appears to be flying above the mountains!
